Bursaries are financial support made available by companies or organisations in South Africa to help students who cannot afford to pay their school fees. Bursaries vary in terms of conditions attached to them as some companies with require the student to work for them after completion.
Bursaries normally cover student's school fees, books, travelling allowance, residence and in some cases montly allowances. All these differ depending on the size of the bursary.
Since bursaries are offered on year to year basis it is always advised that students needing financial assistance approach companies offering bursaries as early as possible. Most companies in South Africa conclude their budgets in March of every year and they then decide as to how much will be allocated for bursaries. These companies will then issue bursaries application form to students who request them. So students are advised to approach these companies before June.
Another way of finding bursaries is to search for them on google as most companies place these bursaries on their websites which will them reflect of search engines.
